Four calls you would rather not make
“Where is my truck?” from the shipper
Send a no-login share link for the load, or give the shipper a free login that shows only their own loads.
The check call
See every load on one map. Each location says how fresh it is, and loads running late, gone dark or stopped too long are flagged.
The detention dispute
Dock mode records arrival and waiting time. A “Leaving now” tap records departure. You get a detention report, and the driver gets a proof link to send. More on detention proof.
The driver who refuses an app
There is no app. The driver taps a link in the phone’s browser. Once ELD connections are live, the carrier’s ELD can do the work instead. What drivers see.
Four ways a load gets tracked
Start with the best method the carrier can offer. Every location on the map is labelled with how it was made.
Carrier’s ELD
The carrier’s fleet admin approves LapisTrack once in Motive or Samsara. You pick the truck on a load and its GPS appears on the map until delivery. Only that truck, only while it is on your load.
Motive and Samsara connections: in development, not live yet
Driver link, no app
You forward the load’s link to the carrier’s dispatcher, who sends it to the driver. The driver taps it, sees who will see the location and when it stops, and agrees. The page shares location while it is open.
Dock mode
At pickup and delivery the driver can leave the page open on the charger. It records arrival and waiting time, and a “Leaving now” tap records departure.
Call in a ZIP
From a flip phone, the driver calls our toll-free line when parked and keys in a ZIP code. It is approximate, about 10 miles, and the map labels it that way.
Starts once our toll-free number is set up
The driver chooses
Drivers opt in themselves. LapisTrack never texts a driver first. Tracking stops by itself at delivery, and our server refuses any location sent after that.
Every driver page says who will see the location and when it stops, in English and Spanish.
Only when you’re parked. Never while driving.

Connect it to your system
LapisTrack can push locations and events to your own system by webhook.
ELD: Motive and Samsara connections are in development, not live yet. How the ELD connection works.
Detention proof
Dock mode records when the truck arrived and how long it waited. The driver’s “Leaving now” tap records departure. You get a detention report for the load, and the driver can send a proof link to their own dispatcher.
Questions brokers ask
How do I track a truck without the driver downloading an app?
There is no driver app. A load can be followed from the carrier’s own ELD (Motive or Samsara), from a link the driver opens in a phone browser, from dock mode at pickup and delivery, or from a ZIP code the driver calls in. You pick the method that fits each carrier. See how each one works.
Will the driver actually tap the link? What about a flip phone?
Drivers decide for themselves. The link page tells them who will see their location and when it stops, in English and Spanish, and they agree before anything is shared. A driver with a flip phone can call our toll-free line when parked and key in a ZIP code. That location is approximate, about 10 miles either way, and the map says so. Call-in starts once our toll-free number is set up.
How do I stop making check calls?
Every load sits on one map, and each location carries a label that says how fresh it is: Live, Check-in with its age, approximate, or Gone dark. Loads running late, gone dark or stopped too long are flagged, so you know which ones need a call.
Does tracking stop after delivery?
Yes. Tracking stops by itself at delivery, and our server refuses any location sent after that. A driver can also stop sooner, and replying STOP to a LapisTrack text ends texts and tracking.
What if the driver never opens the link? Do I still pay?
No track, no charge. A load costs $2.85 only if at least one location arrived for it. The $47.50 monthly fee is fixed.
Can I use the carrier’s ELD instead of a phone?
Not yet. The Motive and Samsara connections are in development and not live. Once they are, the carrier’s fleet admin approves LapisTrack once, you pick the truck on a load, and its GPS appears on the map until delivery. Until then, they can share their Motive or Samsara live-location link, which shows as a “Carrier’s live tracking” button on the load.
Can I send locations to my own system?
Yes. LapisTrack can push locations and events to your own system by webhook.
