Track the truck from the carrier’s own ELD
Not live yet. Once it is, the carrier approves LapisTrack once, you pick the truck on a load, and its GPS appears on your map until delivery. The driver does nothing.
Motive and Samsara connections: in development, not live yet
How it will work
- Invite the carrier. In LapisTrack, choose Motive or Samsara and enter the carrier’s name. You get a private link to email to the carrier’s fleet admin.
- The carrier approves once. The fleet admin opens the link and approves LapisTrack in their own Motive or Samsara account.
- Pick the truck. On the load, choose the carrier and the truck.
- Watch it move. The truck’s GPS appears on the map automatically until delivery, then it stops.
Only that truck, only while it is on your load.
What the carrier will see when approving
The approval page says, in plain English, that the broker uses LapisTrack to follow the loads it gives the carrier. Connecting lets LapisTrack read the location of a truck only while that truck is assigned to one of the broker’s active loads, from assignment until delivery.
LapisTrack does not read the carrier’s other trucks’ locations, drivers’ hours, or messages.
The carrier can disconnect at any time in their Motive or Samsara account, or by emailing support@lapistrack.com.
Not connected yet? Use the carrier’s share link
Until a carrier is connected, they can share their Motive or Samsara live-location link for the truck. It shows as a “Carrier’s live tracking” button on the load.
Why it helps
- No app to download, and nothing for the driver to tap.
- The location arrives on its own, so there is nothing to ask for.
- A location labelled Live, so you know it is not a stale check-in.
Try it on your own loads for 30 days. Free.
Email us your company name, MC number and how many loads you move a month. No setup fee. No contract. You pay for a load only if a location arrived for it.
